CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens increased as vitality shares rise

Dec 31 (Reuters) – Canada’s main stock index opened higher on Monday as energy stocks were boosted by rising oil prices, which surged on hints of progress on a possible Sino-U.S. trade deal.

* At 9:31 a.m. ET (14:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 100.3 points, or 0.71 percent, at 14,322.3.
